Oasis in Heaton Park - your questions answered
As many will know, the band Oasis are coming to Heaton Park to play three shows between 4-7th June. I am distraught to discover that due to the Radcliffe West by-election count on the 4th, and the Euro Election Count on the 7th, I can’t go except on the 6th, which is sold out.
However, lots of local people will be going, and lots more will be a bit concerned about how to deal with 70,000 people per night having fun in the park. Well now the answers to lots of frequently asked questions can be found here. Unfortunately they don’t deal with the two most pressing questions I have about the gig, which are:
1) How can I get a ticket for the Saturday without paying a ridiculous amount in the dubious secondary market?
2) If I find an answer to 1), how can I then get anywhere near the stage without getting crushed or covered in beer or liquids I’d like to be covered in even less than beer?
If anyone can answer those, please do let me know.
Otherwise, I hope the answers to the FAQs provide some comfort to everyone. If you have any more queries, please give me a bell.

i have 3 tickets 2 entering at gate 4 and 1 at gate 2. Can i use the one at gate 2 and use it at gate 4?
I have no idea. I suspect there’s a number to ring for questions on the tickets. My suggestion would be to ring that!
Hi , just wondering what time each band is likely to come on at because im at school till 3.15 and will only get there at about half 5 (probably later) , i got the tickets because i thought it would start at like 6 or 7 .. didnt know it was a daytime thing.
Hi Matty,
There is a fact sheet with more info on the concerts that I have just uploaded to the site today. I wouldn’t worry about missing out. The first band won’t be on until 17.45 on Thursday, and 17.05 on Saturday and Sunday. I don’t know for sure, but my experience of going to these gigs before is that the main act doesn’t come on until much later. The gigs will finish at 22.45 or so, so if you think that Oasis will play two and a half hours at the absolute maximum, that means them coming on at 20.15. I suspect it will be nearer 21.00. But obviously don’t take any chances and get there early to be sure!
do you know if we are allowed to take our own food and beers into the event or do we have to buy them once inside??
As with all questions, my answer to this is based on educated guesswork and my own experience of gig-going! For a definitive answer I would check with the promoters.
I suspect you’ll get away with a small amount of food and drink. Probably not alcohol or anything in a glass container. But don’t take my word for it.
